Founded As Scott Engineering Company by Grant E. Scott Jr. in Olean, NY - the first rotating union is manufactured for use in the paper mill industry.
1970
Scott Engineering Company develops the first generation of rotary timing valves introduced for industries with a need for rotating fluid transfer with integrated on/off flow control. This breakthrough innovation replaces conventional methods used to control flow, such as cams, solenoid vales and switches
1987
Scott Engineering Company changes name to Scott Rotary Seals (SRS), expanding its operations and relocating to its facility in Hinsdale, NY.
2001
Tragically, founder Grant E. Scott Jr. and wife Marion die in a plane crash in Evansville, IN.
2005
Dynamic Sealing Technologies, Inc. (DSTI) of Minneapolis, MN announce an agreement to acquire SRS, operating as a separate division of DSTI.
2007
SRS acquires Blakeslee Technologies, Inc., founded in 2000. This acquisition allows SRS to expand its rotary timing valve development and operations.
2010
SRS celebrates 50 years of designing and manufacturing precision sealing equipment for industries across the globe.
2011
SRS breaks ground on a new, expanded facility located in Olean, NY.
2012
SRS operations are consolidated and moved to the Olean, NY facility.
2017
SRS invests in new equipment dedicated for Babbitt bearing manufacturing and completes successful supplier quality audits with key customers including Dresser-Rand, Praxair, TurboPro, and Rotating Machinery Services.
2019
SRS celebrates milestone of designing, manufacturing and shipping over 200 Babbitt bearings of numerous types including journal, thrust, and combination of both tilting pad and fixed geometry designs.
