With a mechanically inventive mind and desire to solve industrial problems, Grant E. Scott, Jr. started a small company designing industrial layouts. This quickly gave way to the founding of Scott Engineering Company in 1960.
The first Scott Rotating Union was designed for the paper industry. It is interesting to note that this union operated for 20+ years before being returned to be refurbished.
With more than 45 years of experience in solving Rotary Union problems for large equipment builders and automated machinery designers, Scott Rotary Seals is the choice of companies facing unusual challenges in their processing environment. Solving rotary sealing applications with numerous custom designed Rotating Unions and Rotary Timing Valves has lead us to standardize some of our products.
Since its inception, Scott Rotary Seals has continued to grow to meet the needs of industry. We continue to supply and service dependable and reliable rotating seals to customers worldwide. Our plant, located in Hinsdale, NY has nearly 13,000 square feet of floor space, a fully equipped machine shop and assembly/test area. This allows all phases of development from R&D through final assembly to be completed at this one location.
